In a high-tier Diablo 4 fight, where elite affixes crowd the floor and a boss forces constant repositioning, a Tornado Druid can lose more damage to missed projectile paths than to a weak weapon roll. Fleshrender addresses that problem with a 100-135% Tornado damage increase and a return effect: when Tornadoes expire, they seek back toward the Druid. That makes the weapon worth testing for players who already build around the skill, but a wider Diablo IV Items loadout still matters. A Unique can displace an aspect or useful affixes, so judge the upgrade by hits landed and the setup you give up, not by the headline bonus alone.

Make the Return Path Count

The return is best understood as extra path coverage, not a guaranteed second hit. A Tornado still has to intersect an enemy; if its outward leg misses and the return line passes through empty space, the effect adds little to that cast. In dense packs, cast from an angle that sends the first pass through several targets. Then make a controlled lateral adjustment so the projectile's route back has a chance to cross survivors. Avoid a wide retreat that drags enemies out of range or wastes time rebuilding position. Fleshrender rewards deliberate pathing, but it does not correct poor target selection.

Where the Weapon Feels Less Reliable

Against scattered enemies, Fleshrender is less consistent: each projectile may cross open ground, and mobile ranged foes can leave the return line before it arrives. Close enough to keep targets within your attack area, but do not chase so aggressively that you absorb avoidable hits. Bosses are a more useful test when their movement is predictable. Cast during a safe burst window, track the Tornado's outward route, and shift only enough to set up its return. Teleporting or highly mobile bosses reduce the effect's practical value because repeated path intersections become harder to arrange. In those fights, survival and uninterrupted casts matter more than forcing a return hit.

Compare Real Uptime, Not Just the Roll

Fleshrender also grants +3 to Tornado, so compare skill rank, displayed damage, and the Unique roll against your current weapon. Track two things over a full encounter: damage uptime, meaning how often Tornadoes actually connect across both legs, and the time you spend exposed during casting and repositioning. If the return produces occasional extra hits but costs you a key Legendary Aspect, a defensive affix, or a useful stat breakpoint, the swap may lower real DPS or effective health. Test against similar enemy types and combat conditions rather than relying on one quick clear; a weak pack may die before the return behavior can be judged.

A Conditional Upgrade for Tornado Druids

Fleshrender is a specialist choice rather than an automatic upgrade. It fits Tornado-centered Druids who can keep enemies in overlapping projectile paths and value extra coverage through clustered fights. It is less appealing when the build relies on a weapon aspect, when targets scatter, or when boss movement repeatedly breaks your setup. Test the Unique in both a dense pack and a durable target, then compare clear speed, boss pressure, and survivability with your previous loadout. If the results are better, use buy Diablo IV Items as part of your upgrade planning, but prioritize the complete stat and aspect package over chasing one impressive roll.
